Collection "The Fate Is Playing With The Man, But Man Is Playing Trumpet"
The inspiration for my collection of 6 garments comes from the idea of fairy-tale creatures (who don’t believe in people) who try to understand what a human is, based on testimonies from the people themselves (quotes by famous people on the nature of man, this collection is about people and the human world as seen through the eyes of the fairy tale creatures whose observations of the human race may be perplexing, funny or absurd but they all present the things we take for granted in a different light. The basis of my idea came from the illustrations of Irish artist Harry Clarke and contemporary artist Svetlana Dorosheva.
The aim of my collection is to explore the connection between art and fashion by creating and using mechanical objects and dolls as forms of embellishment. The result of this development is the appearance of the Cage-dress with juxtaposition of unexpected man-made things, that are trapped inside the cage.
The conversion of my sketches into embroideries created the illusion that the garments are black and white illustrations, which I was inspired by. The process of designing my collection was based on exploration, discovering and creating unusual shapes and patterns.
